Black Thrips (*Thrips parvispinus*) have emerged as one of the most formidable threats to Chilli (*Capsicum annuum*) cultivation across South and Central India. Unchecked infestations lead to characteristic upward leaf curling, flower drop, and severe yield reduction.

Understanding the Damage Pattern 1. **Foliar Laceration**: Both adults and nymphs rasp lower leaf surfaces and suck cell sap. 2. **Virus Vectoring**: Thrips act as active vectors for Tospo-viruses leading to irreversible leaf curl. 3. **Fruit Scarring**: Direct feeding on young chillies leads to corky tissue and deformed pods.
